Software Engineer
Indexed description
We have been acquired by Certara, a US-based model-informed drug development services and software company. We are in an exciting time of organizational and business growth, so now is the perfect time to join our team!
About Certara
Certara accelerates the potential of bringing medicines to market and to patients using biosimulation software, technology, and services to transform traditional drug discovery and development. Our clients include more than 2,400 biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and regulatory agencies across 70 countries.
Our goal is to enable the life sciences industry’s use of data, modeling, and analytics to make better decisions across the various phases of discovery and drug development. Our software and scientists incorporate modern advances in scientific understanding, drug development experience, data analysis, and AI resulting in significant opportunities to decrease the cost and increase the probability of success for new drug approval and commercialization.
About The Role
One of our teams is expanding to take on a focused new challenge: implementing core functionality for biological macromolecules. This library sits at the heart of our broader platform powering multiple user-facing products across the organization.
This is an early-stage effort, and you would be joining as a senior contributor helping to shape both the technical direction and the foundations of the library itself.
The work is squarely in the domain of biological macromolecules — including algorithm development and biological toolkit functionality — so a strong interest (or background) in cheminformatics or bioinformatics is a significant advantage. On the technical side, the role is Java-focused, with an emphasis on writing well-structured, reusable library code that other teams can build on confidently. API design, correctness, and long-term maintainability carry particular weight. You will be expected to contribute independently at a senior level, bring sound architectural judgment, and work collaboratively in a small, technically driven team that is still finding its shape.
