Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Developer to join our Data team. This key role will be instrumental in managing and harnessing the power of our project execution data. The initial focus of this position will be on the company's archives' metadata creation and management and the development of AI-powered capabilities to enable intelligent search, discovery, and classification of archival content. This position will work closely with the company Archivist and Archives Administrator to collaborate across the enterprise and drive business efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, AI/ML development, and metadata management, with a passion for transforming unstructured data into valuable assets. This individual will play a key role in our data strategy, enabling advanced analytics and agentic capabilities across the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Data Management & Governance
- Oversee metadata management and enrichment for key data repositories including SharePoint, Distributed File Systems (Client), and Preservica.
- Design and lead execution of technical implementation strategy of data governance and compliance for archived project data/content.
- Administer data archiving and retention policies to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Implement classification frameworks to support Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC).
Data Engineering & Integration
- Design, build, and maintain optimized data pipelines using SQL and Python.
- Integrate various engineering and project execution data sources (including Hexagon, Bentley, and Autodesk Construction Cloud), harmonizing and tagging metadata to create unified data products.
- Collaborate with domain teams to identify, extract, and organize data for analysis and product development.
- Utilize Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract structured data from unstructured sources at scale.
Agentic AI
- Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for content classification.
- Develop and own the technical experience of the archive and classification agents.
- Construct and evaluate Generative AI agents, ensuring output quality, safety, reliability, and groundedness using established evaluation frameworks.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field required
Required Experience:
- 8 years' experience required
Required Skills:
- Expert knowledge in programming languages and coding principles and procedures
- Proficiency in Python, .NET/C#, or JavaScript
- Extensive experience with API development and tools like Postman
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining data pipelines with SQL and Python
- Strong understanding of machine-readable metadata standards and taxonomies
- Experience building, evaluating, and maintaining AI/ML models and agents
- Experience developing embeddings or vector stores on unstructured content
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with data within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry
- Experience with AEC industry SaaS platforms such as Hexagon, Bentley, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (Client)
Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
