Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Python / Django) (Fintech SaaS)
Location: Remote (ET/CT Hours, U.S.-based only)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and features using Python and Django within a cloud-based SaaS platform
- Contribute to the development of API-driven services and integrations with external financial systems and partners
- Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Participate in architecture and design discussions, helping shape the evolution of multiple platform applications
- Maintain and enhance existing systems, including supporting legacy components and contributing to newer platform development
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
- Take ownership of projects end-to-end, managing priorities and delivering high-quality solutions in a remote-first environment
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to a collaborative, feedback-driven engineering culture
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend development focus
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building production-grade applications in Django (non-academic/project-based experience required)
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience working with modern web frameworks and RESTful APIs
- Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or similar)
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data-heavy applications
- Ability to operate independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration across distributed teams
- Experience in SaaS or startup environments preferred
- Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or full-stack development (including light JavaScript) is a plus
- Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000
- Bonus: ~10% annual performance-based bonus
- Role is 100% remote, but candidates must be based in the U.S., with strong preference for Eastern or Central time zones
- Must be authorized to work in the United States — no visa sponsorship available
- Engineering team is small and collaborative, offering high ownership and impact on core product development
- Work environment emphasizes flexibility, accountability, and strong communication within a remote-first culture
- Occasional team travel may be required (e.g., annual company offsite)
