Key Responsibilities -
- Design and implement innovative lesson plans aligned with Oxbridge Academy’s physics curriculum, tailored to meet diverse student needs and foster a love of learning.
- Teach five sections of physics courses ranging from 9th grade Conceptual Physics to advanced collegelevel courses including Electricity & Magnetism, Fluid Dynamics, Modern Physics, and related topics.
- Integrate computational tools, data analysis, and simulation into physics instruction where appropriate.
- Design and lead laboratory experiences that develop experimental design, data collection, and scientific communication skills.
- Lead or co-develop elective or integrated coursework in AI, machine learning, data science, or computational science.
- Mentor students pursuing independent research, science competitions, or interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of physics and technology.
- Assess and document student progress, providing timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Cultivate an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative classroom culture that encourages students to take intellectual risks and develop a growth mindset.
- Actively support Oxbridge’s mission by building meaningful relationships with students, mentoring them in both academics and character development.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events, contributing to a cohesive, mission-driven academic environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities that enrich students' understanding of physics.
- Engage with parents, guardians, and support staff to communicate student progress and address individual learning needs.
Preferred - Prior experience teaching in an independent or private school, ideally within a mission-driven educational community. Interest in contributing to the school community beyond the classroom with a demonstrated ability to coach or mentor students in co-curricular or extracurricular activities. Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and innovative teaching practices. Background in machine learning, neural networks, or applied AI. Experience mentoring students in research or independent study. Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the school's AI, STEM, and technology programming.
