Founding Software Engineer - Backend/Full-Stack - Up to $300k base + bonus

A well-funded AI unicorn ($XXXM Series E, backed by top-tier VCs) is launching a new vertical—and we're hiring a Founding Software Engineer to lead it. This isn't just another engineering role. You're joining a startup within a startup, writing the playbook as you go on this NYC-based team.

This company has already revolutionized operations in a major industry vertical with AI agents that automate complex workflows. Now they're bringing that same transformative approach to healthcare—streamlining scheduling, intake, and patient communication so providers can focus on care, not paperwork.

As a founding engineer on this team, you'll build autonomous systems that actually ship. You'll own features end-to-end, work directly with customers, and see your code make a real impact on how people access healthcare. No playbooks. No micromanagement. Just you, a small team of top engineers (current team = 6), and the mandate to move fast and build something massive.

You are qualified if you bring an exceptional educational background paired with a startup mindset - with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and pragmatism in building and shipping software. You should be proficient in Python (Java, C#, Go are useful as well) and have an understanding of microservices and event-driven systems. Experience with a successfully scaled, AI forward business would particularly stand out. Bonus points if you have worked in voice AI, specifically.

Compensation: $240,000–$300,000 + equity + comprehensive benefits package
