Serbia - Simulation Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and work on simulation tools. The ideal candidate will have experience working, in close collaboration with hardware designers and verification engineers, on hardware specs to understand chip architecture, chip operation flows and build bits and clock accurate HW simulation. The HW simulation tools are critical infrastructure for NextSilicon HW architecture and SW development with major impact on engineering velocity and product quality.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in C++
• Solid understanding of SoC hardware architecture components (e.g., CPU, Memory Controller, Cache, NoC)
• Knowledge of hardware simulation in software, including familiarity with industry-standard tools and methodologies
• Background in mathematical modeling for hardware performance prediction is a strong plus
• Ability to balance accuracy with speed — knowing when and how to “cut corners” to achieve fast, reliable results is an advantage
• Excellent written communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain NextSilicon’s SW stack from Simulators and infrastructure tools to be used for performance estimation
• Collaborate with hardware teams to provide feedback and insights for next-generation hardware design
• Work with software and research teams to develop analytic-modeling estimating current and future performance on hardware
• Create and maintain documentation for tools, processes, and performance models
