Importantly, you be joining the Data, Digital & AI (DDAI) function that defines and executes the data, digital, and AI strategy—partnering with business leaders to unlock value through advanced analytics, responsible AI, and modern digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of complex AI platforms, services, and products.
- Define architecture patterns for AI systems including orchestration, evaluation, observability, and governance.
- Drive production hardening of AI capabilities, including resilience, fallback strategies, and incident response.
- Establish and evolve standards for prompt management, evaluation, monitoring, security, and compliance.
- Make informed trade-offs between model quality, latency, risk, and cost, and align stakeholders on prioritisation and sequencing decisions.
- Mentor and guide AI Engineers, reviewing designs and code and uplifting capability.
- Partner with platform, risk, security, data, and product leaders to scale AI safely and sustainably.
- Translate experimental AI approaches into reusable, production-grade patterns.
- Lead technical investigations and root-cause analysis for AI system issues, driving durable systemic fixes and prevention.
- Deep experience in software engineering and distributed systems.
- Proven track record delivering AI systems into enterprise production.
- Strong expertise in LLM architectures, RAG, agents, evaluation frameworks, and model lifecycle management.
- Experience designing guardrails for responsible AI, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to influence technical direction and engineering standards across teams.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including influencing decisions and prioritisation.
- AI platforms scale reliably across multiple products and teams.
- Clear AI engineering standards and patterns are adopted across teams.
- AI risks are proactively managed through design, not retrofitted.
- Junior engineers grow faster through guidance and example…in particular your SME in these areas.
- Systems, agents, and operating practices mature continuously (reliability, safety, evaluation coverage) as teams learn and iterate.
- AI systems meet enterprise expectations for quality, safety, and resilience.
