Software Engineer

As a Lead Engineer, you will drive the evolution of high-scale backend services using Java and AWS, leading cross-functional squads to deliver mission-critical banking infrastructure. The Role

• Lead a cross-functional squad in the end-to-end delivery of complex backend services and API integrations using Java and modern OO principles.
• Take full ownership of technical design, implementation, and operational health for significant components of the microservices ecosystem.
• Architect secure, high-performance systems that thrive at massive scale, ensuring seamless integration between backend services and mobile technologies.
• Act as a technical catalyst, championing engineering enablement through the development of standardized tools, patterns, and sustainable best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Architects and Product Managers to translate business vision into robust, scalable technical roadmaps.

• Proven track record of technical leadership, successfully guiding teams through the delivery of high-quality applications at scale.
• Deep expertise in Java and building RESTful APIs, with a strong grasp of SOLID principles, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and HTTP protocols.
• Advanced experience with AWS cloud-based development and a firm understanding of secure architectural design patterns.
• A passion for modern engineering craft, leveraging Pair Programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive inner-sourcing opportunities across the wider engineering community.
