Our Story

Gold savings is India’s oldest and most loved hobby.

Gold is deeply emotional and culturally embedded, yet it has remained largely idle and static for centuries, with very little innovation around how people accumulate or use it. Today, Indian households hold over $5 trillion worth of gold, much of it sitting unproductive in lockers and cupboards.

At Gullak, we are building the rails that make gold fully digital, liquid, and usable, allowing anyone to accumulate and manage gold savings with a single tap. In just a few years, Gullak has already enabled ₹2000+ crore worth of gold savings across 500,000+ customers, and we’re only getting started.

Just as UPI moved cash from physical wallets to mobile phones, we believe that in the coming years, a billion Indians will hold their gold on their phones.

Founding Team

Our founding team had a front-row seat to India’s payments revolution while building at Juspay, with products architected by them now powering a large part of the country’s payments ecosystem.

From architecting UPI systems that process millions of transactions daily to contributing to digital public infrastructure initiatives like UPI, AA, OCEN, and Beckn with iSPIRT, the team has seen firsthand what it takes to build planet-scale systems that work in the real world.

Alongside this deep infrastructure experience, the founding team also brings strong consumer growth expertise, having handcrafted growth journeys for 40+ consumer brands, with a deep understanding of consumer psychology and a knack for building products users love.

Building for scale, customer-obsessed product engineering, and rapid iterative development at each step define the everyday life of a Gullak engineer. We are a crazy bunch of curious engineers who get excited about deep engineering and are strong believers of first principles thinking. Primary Responsibilities

As a Backend Engineer, you will work closely with the Tech Leadership and lead end-to-end development. We’re looking for people who

• Design and implement large-scale backend systems with GoLang in a fast-paced environment
• Build extremely reliable systems, in constant pursuit of building zero-downtime systems.
• Optimize the final mile latency to deliver a superior customer experience
• Set up best practices for development and drive their adoption
• Have an eye for detail and obsess over implementation quality

What Are We Looking For?

• 0-4 years of experience building large-scale systems
• Proficient with Golang/Java or any other backend systems
• Engineers who are obsessed with optimizations and are ready to go the extra mile to deliver the best experience to the customers
• Worked in a startup environment with high levels of ownership and commitment
• A growth mindset and passion for building things from the ground up.
