Role Description

We are seeking a proactive Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) with 5–6 years of experience to support marketing and business development activities in the Defence and Shipbuilding sector. The candidate will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, engaging with customers such as Naval Dockyards, DRDO laboratories, Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), and Shipyards, and contributing to the expansion of the company’s presence in defence programs.

The role requires strong technical aptitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and willingness to travel extensively for client interactions, relationship development, and opportunity generation.

Required Qualifications

· B.E./ B. Tech in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.

· 5–6 years of relevant experience in: Defence sector, Shipbuilding industry, Industrial equipment or engineered products

• Technical marketing or customer-facing engineering roles

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing Support

· Be part of the marketing team, supporting defence and shipbuilding customers.

· Identify potential opportunities aligned with company capabilities.

· Support preparation of presentations, capability documents, and technical briefs.

· Gather market intelligence related to customer requirements and upcoming programs.

· Participate in exhibitions, seminars, and customer meetings as required.

2. Customer Interaction & Account Coordination

· Travel extensively to meet customers.

· Develop and maintain professional relationships with customer representatives.

· Understand customer requirements and coordinate internally for appropriate technical inputs.

· Track ongoing interactions and maintain records of discussions and action points.

3. RFI / EOI Tracking and Participation

· Monitor RFIs, EOIs, RFPs, and tender portals of defence organizations.

· Review requirements and coordinate internally regarding participation.

· Facilitate preparation and submission of responses.

· Maintain records of submitted documents and correspondence.

· Coordinate clarifications and follow-up communication with customers.

4. Technical Communication & Documentation

· Draft professional correspondence in defence-style format, including:

-Technical submissions

-Compliance statements

-Capability documentation

-Queries and clarification responses

· Prepare visit reports, meeting minutes, and opportunity trackers.

· Ensure clarity, structure, and accuracy in written communication.

Required Skills

1. Technical

· Ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications, and system requirements.

· Familiarity with mechanical or electrical systems such as:

-Mechanical: piping systems, valves, fabricated equipment, structural components, marine hardware

-Electrical: control panels, instrumentation, power systems, automation interfaces

· Understanding of defence procurement processes will be preferred.

2. Communication

· Excellent spoken and written English.

· Ability to prepare structured technical documents and professional correspondence.

· Confident in interacting with technical and commercial representatives.

3. Personal Attributes

· Willingness to travel extensively across India.

· Professional approach suitable for customer-facing role.
