Role Description

The United States Space Force developed the Military Standard Order (MSO) Program which is modeled after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Technical Standard Order (TSO) Authorization (TSOA) process as codified in the United States Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 14 CFR Part 21 Subpart O, Technical Standard Order Approvals. The Precise Positioning Service Equipment Certification Office (PECO) acts as the MSO Program certification authority for customers/applicants who seek MSO Authorization (MSOA) on Global Positioning System (GPS) Precise Positioning Service (PPS) User Equipment (UE).

The PECO is adding a team member to execute the MSO Program. This position is full-time remote but the employee must be based in the U.S.


Essential Qualifications

· Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security clearance. This means that only U.S. citizens are eligible for this position. Do not apply unless you are a U.S. citizen.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline is required.

· Operational knowledge of RTCA DO-178() and DO-254.

· Operational knowledge of TSO program processes and general FAA regulations and guidance.

· Basic knowledge of GPS and how MOPS such as RTCA DO-229() are invoked for equipment certification.

· Able to analyze FAA regulatory requirements and advisory materials.

· Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, a sense of urgency and sensitivity to deadlines, and detail oriented.

· Technical writing ability.

· Ability to communicate and present both orally and written.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team.

· Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required.

· Must be able to travel to customer/applicant locations.

· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
