We are seeking an outstanding Engineer who brings the experience of building large distributed systems and solving sophisticated problems. This role requires strong technical depth, ownership of complex projects, and the ability to mentor engineers while contributing to architectural decisions.
This role focuses on improving system reliability, observability, debuggability, and operational excellence across large-scale, distributed environments and relies heavily on cross-functional collaboration with product management, support, QA, design, and field teams.
How You’ll Spend Your Time Here
- Design and develop core infra components for Cohesity Data Protect and SaaS platform that improve system reliability and scalability.
- Architect, design, develop and operationalize high performance, scalable, reliable, and resilient services.
- Develop tools and frameworks for proactive issue detection and automated remediation.
- Own quality across SaaS and on-prem features to ensure consistent behavior, reliability, and readiness for global deployments.
- Partner with Support, SRE, and Engineering teams to identify recurring issues and implement systemic fixes.
- Perform deep root cause analysis (RCA) for complex production issues in distributed systems.
- Improve observability using metrics, tracing, and logging best practices.
- Influence architecture decisions with a focus on operability and maintainability.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising the bar for engineering quality.
- Strong coding experience in at least one of these languages – C++, Golang, Python
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree
- Knowledge of Microservices, Kubernetes and SaaS architecture. AI/ML is a plus.
- Experience developing and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems written in Go/C/C++ on Linux Platforms.
- Strong coding, analytical, debugging and troubleshooting skills including use of tools such GDB, Python Debugger.
- Problem-solver who can dive deep to solve complex problems/issues.
- Great communication skills, influence others to adopt inclusive, innovative, and customer-centric behaviors and passion for building quality products.
- Ability to articulate design and implementation choices, communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences; simplifies complexity.
- Independent, self-motivated, creative, willing to learn new technologies, and able to take up multiple roles in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and elevate team-wide quality practices.
- Bonus / Nice to Have: AWS/Azure/GCP, Hypervisors (ESXi, KVM), performance and scalability.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and support high-quality decision-making.
