Senior Kubernetes Specialist

Senior Kubernetes Engineer (Day-Rate Contract) - Dublin based.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Kubernetes Engineer to join our client's cloud infrastructure team on a contract basis, with a view to going permanent if you desire.

The successful candidate will help optimize and maintain our container orchestration platform while implementing best practices for scalability and security.

This role will be on a hybrid basis with some on-site presence required every week.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments
• Lead container orchestration initiatives and establish deployment strategies
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications
• Optimize cluster performance, security, and reliability
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development teams
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the container ecosystem

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience with container orchestration, with deep expertise in Kubernetes
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Strong knowledge of networking, security, and monitoring in containerized environments
• Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go

Nice to Have

• Experience with multi-cluster management and federation
• Knowledge of GitOps practices and tools
• Security certifications (CKS, CCSP)
• Experience with cloud-native observability tools
• Background in performance tuning and optimization
