The Role
- Develop high-quality, scalable code using Java and Cloud Services within a collaborative Agile Scrum environment.
- Lead the creation of reusable patterns and innovative software solutions to accelerate team velocity and product delivery.
- Conduct rigorous design and code reviews focusing on unit testing, security, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Implement automated testing and contribute to a robust DevSecOps pipeline involving Tekton, ArgoCD, and SonarQube.
- Work closely with the Scrum team to meet sprint commitments and contribute to technical estimation and sprint planning.
- Expert proficiency in Java development and building scalable Cloud Services.
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Strong understanding of modern frameworks like Quarkus and Front-end development experience with Angular.
- Proven experience in Unit Testing and automated quality assurance practices.
- Valid UK Security Clearance (SC) is required before starting; active SC on application is highly preferred (UK Eyes Only project).
- Competitive rate of £70 - £84 per hour (Umbrella, inside IR35).
- 12-month contract with the potential for long-term project involvement.
- Flexible hybrid working model based in professional tech hubs in Guildford or Newcastle.
