Reporting & Location

You will report to the Chief Technology Officer and be primarily based in our office, with flexibility for occasional remote work.

Mission Highlights

As a key member of the engineering team, you will play a central role in evolving our infrastructure capabilities—from using existing systems to designing and building them in-house. Your work will focus on two main areas:

• Data Infrastructure: Designing, building, and scaling data pipelines and storage systems that power advanced AI models and agent-based systems.
• Platform & Compute: Developing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices to support machine learning–driven discovery.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Platform

• Manage and improve cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools
• Optimize systems for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency

DevOps & Developer Experience

• Strengthen DevOps practices across teams
• Design and implement efficient CI/CD pipelines
• Improve tooling and workflows for engineering and research teams

Data Storage & Pipelines

• Architect and maintain robust data pipelines and storage systems
• Support high-throughput interactions across databases and orchestration tools

Security & Isolation

• Implement secure data and compute isolation strategies
• Ensure alignment with industry compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001)

Containerization & Orchestration

• Introduce and manage containerization and orchestration technologies
• Improve deployment reliability and scalability

AI Automation

• Build automated workflows leveraging AI tools
• Promote adoption of AI-driven practices across technical and non-technical teams

Candidate Profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in cloud infrastructure and data platforms
• Versatile engineer comfortable working across systems, infrastructure, and application layers
• Strong communication skills and ability to advocate for best practices
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience collaborating with machine learning teams and tools
• Familiarity with compliance, data residency, and secure multi-tenant systems
• Interest in large language models and agent-based development workflows

Technical Expertise

Programming

• Strong proficiency in Python and at least one additional language (e.g., Go, Rust)

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Experience with major cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
• Strong background in Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform)

DevOps & CI/CD

• Proven experience building automated deployment pipelines
• Familiarity with modern DevOps tooling

Data Systems

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools

Containerization & Orchestration

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to ML orchestration tools is a plus
