AI Engineer (AI Governance)

Job Title: AI Engineer

Location: Southern Germany (Hybrid)

We're looking for an AI Engineer to join a development team focused on building and integrating AI systems within an established banking client. This is a hands on role covering the full lifecycle from model development through to production deployment, monitoring and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI systems that comply with GDPR, DORA and the EU AI Act
• Integrate AI services into existing IT infrastructure, working across both cloud and on-premise environments
• Build and scale AI systems capable of supporting at least 300 simultaneous users
• Train and fine tune process specific models tailored to business requirements
• Implement explainable AI practices to ensure transparency and interpretability
• Set up post go live monitoring and support for production AI systems
• Work with container orchestration and CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable deployments

Required Experience

• Previous experience in the banking sector.
• Strong expertise in AI Governance: GDPR, DORA and EU AI Act compliance within AI system development
• Hands on experience with cloud and on premise infrastructures
• Hands on experience in container orchestration and CI/CD tooling
• Proven experience scaling AI systems for high concurrent user loads
• Deep knowledge of explainable AI principles and implementation
• Experience with production AI monitoring, observability and maintenance
• German Speaking (Required)
