Summary:

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Jira Administrator at the Senior Software Engineer level to support the smooth functioning and optimization of our Jira ecosystem. This role will play an important part in configuring and administering Jira to align with Agile practices and evolving business needs. The ideal candidate will have good Jira administration experience, basic Groovy scripting or development skills, and an understanding of Agile principles. Exposure to plugin integrations, reporting tools, and migration activities will be beneficial.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and day-to-day administration of Jira and Confluence environments.
  • Perform workflow customization including conditions, validators, post-functions, and screen schemes.
  • Manage user permissions, groups, and role-based access controls as per defined schemes.
  • Build and manage filters, dashboards, and reports using JQL to support Agile teams.
  • Use Groovy scripting (e.g., via ScriptRunner) for automation tasks and minor customizations.
  • Develop and support scripted fields, listeners, and behaviors as per requirements.
  • Support integrations with other systems using REST APIs under the direction of senior team members.
  • Respond to user queries, troubleshoot access or functional issues, and provide timely resolution.
  • Contribute to training sessions, documentation, and knowledge articles to support end users.
  • Actively participate in tool enhancement discussions, offering input based on operational experience.

Professional & Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of overall IT experience with 1–2 years of hands-on Jira administration.
  • Working knowledge of Agile practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with technical and non-technical users.

Additional Information:

  • Exposure to Jira migrations or upgrades (e.g., server-to-cloud or instance consolidation).
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational database structures.
  • Experience in using REST APIs for integrations (even under supervision).
  • Familiarity with Jira plugins/features like ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira, etc.
  • Agile or Atlassian certifications (e.g., CSM, ACP) are an added advantage., 15 years full time education
