Software Engineer SCADA

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a business-critical SCADA system operating 24/7 across multiple European countries. This system plays a key role in balancing power generation and supporting the integration of flexible energy assets as part of the energy transition.
You will contribute to the development of real-time tools used to monitor production assets, exchange data with grid operators, and optimize power plant output to maintain grid stability.
Your role:
- Develop and maintain a real-time SCADA platform used for energy balancing
- Work on both backend and frontend components (proprietary backend language + web technologies)
- Design scalable and robust solutions following best software engineering practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (analysts, operations, technical experts) in an Agile environment
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of tools and processes
- Participate in on-call support to ensure system reliability and availability (24/7 environment)
Your profile:
- Master’s degree in IT, software engineering, or related technical field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software development
- Strong understanding of software design principles and building reliable systems
- Interest or basic knowledge in energy systems, industrial environments, or real-time applications
- Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Team player with the ability to take ownership and initiative
Technical skills:
- Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript)
- Knowledge of backend development concepts
- Familiarity with version control and CI/CD practices
- Awareness of cybersecurity principles in industrial or critical environments is a plus
