You will join a collaborative, agile team focused on building and evolving the backend services that power our ECommerce platform, supporting a wide range of merchandise products, gift cards, and experiences used by our global customer base. You’ll work closely with other engineers, QA, Product Owners, and DevOps to deliver reliable, scalable solutions while continuing to develop your skills.
Tech Stack Includes
Java 17, Spring, Web Services/APIs, Apache Camel, AWS, Oracle, NoSQL databases, PL/SQL, Opensearch, Terraform, JMeter, Jenkins, Sonar, Maven, Git, Docker/Containerization, Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, Enterprise Integration Patterns, KIE KB, Github CoPilot and Syndigo PIM.
You are not expected to be an expert in every technology listed above, but you should have proven experience working with Java, Spring, AWS, GIT, Kafka and database integrations.
The Value You Will Deliver
As a Software Engineer (Backend), You Will
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services for our ECommerce platform, delivering features, enhancements, and bug fixes with a good level of independence
- Collaborate with teammates to understand requirements and translate them into well-structured technical solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards and best practices
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing thoughtful feedback and incorporating feedback from others
- Contribute to agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Work with QA and DevOps to ensure changes are tested, deployed, and monitored effectively
- Help improve system reliability, performance, and scalability through incremental enhancements
- Build a strong understanding of our ECommerce domain and backend architecture over time
- Share knowledge within the team and support less experienced engineers through collaboration and example
- Minimum of 4–7 years of professional software development experience,
- Strong experience with Java and object-oriented programming principles
- Hands-on experience with Spring and building or maintaining Web Services / APIs
- Practical experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including writing and optimizing queries
- Proven ability using Git and working with modern development workflows
- Experience of working in an agile development environment
- Experienced in use of CI/CD pipelines and deploying or supporting client facing applications in production environments
- Proven experience using AWS, Kafka messaging systems, and containerized applications is preferred
- Proven proficiency lead operational efficiency improvements through testing, code quality, and ease of maintenance
- Excellent communication skills and the proven experience of collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams and Leadership
- A proactive mindset and a desire to continue learning and improving as an engineer
