Your new role:

Shape the future of healthcare scheduling — with Planerio!

At Planerio, we build AI-powered scheduling and time-tracking software that gives medical teams something precious back: time, fairness, and peace of mind. Every shift we help plan means a nurse who knows their weekend is safe, a doctor who isn't burned out, and a clinic that runs smoothly.

As a Software Engineer on our Time Tracking & Payroll domain, you'll have a direct hand in making that happen. You'll own real systems, ship meaningful improvements, and work alongside engineers who care equally about clean code and real-world impact.

  • Build and evolve backend services with Java 25 and Spring Boot 4 — from greenfield features to thoughtful modernization of existing systems.
  • Design robust REST APIs with proper versioning, documentation, and smooth integration across multiple clients and services.
  • Work with data at scale using MySQL, JPA/Hibernate, and Kafka — including schema evolution and performance tuning.
  • Own the full lifecycle — write automated tests, review code, and ship through our CI/CD pipeline into AWS.
  • Lift the team up by mentoring junior engineers, sharing knowledge, and helping us continuously raise the bar.

Your Experience & Personality:

Must-haves:

  • 5+ years building backend web services in production, with strong Java (and/or Kotlin) + Spring Boot experience.
  • Confidence working with and improving existing systems — as well as creating new modules and features.
  • Solid grounding in REST API design, system integration, and relational databases with ORMs (MySQL, JPA/Hibernate).
  • Comfortable with automated testing, CI/CD, and operating services on AWS.
  • A clean-code mindset, pragmatic about documentation, and genuinely collaborative.
  • Fluent English and at home in an agile, cross-functional team.

Nice to have (don't worry if you tick only a few):

  • Light React / TypeScript chops — enough to fix a bug or ship a small feature.
  • Experience running services on AWS ECS (request- or task-based workloads).
  • Python for scripts, tooling, or lightweight services.
  • Working across multiple services and client integrations.
  • Curiosity about AI and using it as part of your daily workflow.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures / Kafka.
  • B2B / SaaS background.
  • German language skills.

What You Can Expect:

In addition, we offer all our employees a wide range of benefits and opportunities to combine professional and private life:

  • Mobile & flexible working.
  • Corporate benefits program.
  • 15 € subsidy for your Deutschland Ticket (Germany-wide public transport ticket).
  • Subsidy for EGYM Wellpass (fitness, sports & wellness).
  • Last, but not least, you will find your purpose by developing the next generation health systems!
