Data Scientist - Remote (Based in Limburg) - Full-time, Permanent


I'm partnered with a large manufacturing company based around the Limburg are in Belgium hiring for a Data Scientist. You'll be the first employee in the Data team and have the opportunity to pioneer this division.


Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will leverage your expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling to extract insights, solve complex problems, and inform decision-making. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic scale-up company at the forefront of ethical AI innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements.
  • Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyze data and extract actionable insights.
  • Stay current with the latest research and developments in the fields of data science, machine learning, and AI ethics, and contribute to the company's knowledge base and best practices.
  • Adhere to ethical principles and guidelines in the development and deployment of AI systems, ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on data analysis and machine learning.
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, as well as experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex datasets, identify patterns and trends, and generate actionable insights.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for ethical AI and a commitment to promoting fairness, transparency, and accountability in AI systems.
