Senior AI Engineer (m/f/d) (ID: 22336)

Your tasks:

• Lead architecture and design of agent-based AI systems for our defect analysis platform serving industrial and automotive customers
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI features from concept to production, including LLM orchestration, evaluation, and reliability
• Develop and deploy agentic LLM systems that integrate into real industrial and engineering workflows
• Design and build full-stack features spanning Python backends and Next.js frontends
• Define our approach to LLM usage across both API-based (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI) and self-hosted models
• Build and maintain RAG pipelines, multimodal embeddings, and vector-based retrieval systems
• Establish evaluation frameworks to measure LLM application accuracy, performance, and business impact
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and customers to turn complex defect workflows into scalable systems
• Engage directly with customers and visit manufacturing and engineering sites to gather requirements and validate solutions
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar across AI and backend engineering practices
• Drive technical decisions across models, tooling, and system design

Your profile:

• Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or AI/ML
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on LLMs and agent-based systems in production
• Hands-on expertise in agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, and multi-turn reasoning
• Experience integrating AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI) and working with both hosted and self-hosted models
• Solid background in scalable backend development, data pipelines, and cloud/container technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiar with modern AI tooling, including MLOps platforms, search technologies, and agentic coding tools
• Strong ownership mindset, communication skills, and ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders in fast-paced environments
• Fluent in English; German nice to have
