AI Engineer for Business Transformation
Indexed description
Overview
Think of this role as a one-person Biz Transformation service — but AI-powered. You will be responsible for keeping the company’s IT and security operations running, while systematically rebuilding how that work gets done: replacing manual processes with AI agents, and handling only what truly requires human judgment.
This is not a traditional IT role, and it’s not a pure AI engineering role. It sits exactly in between: someone who understands IT operations deeply enough to know where the pain is, and who has the AI/engineering skills to build agents that fix it.
The ideal candidate’s instinct when facing a repetitive IT task is not to do it — but to build an agent that does it instead.
Responsibilities:
[IT Helpdesk AI Agent Development]
- Design and build AI agents to handle IT helpdesk requests end-to-end: ticket triage, diagnosis, resolution, and escalation.
- Define the boundary between what the agent handles autonomously vs. what requires human intervention — and continuously push that boundary as the system matures.
- Select and implement the right agentic platforms for each use case (e.g., Claude, n8n, Dify, Langflow, MCP integrations).
[IT Operations & Infrastructure] — Own What the Agent Can’t (Yet)
- Manage cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) — reliability, cost, access controls.
- Administer IAM, SSO, and licensing across Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence, and other SaaS tools.
- Support IT operations across global offices, handling issues that genuinely require human judgment — while documenting each one as a candidate for future agent coverage.
[Security & Compliance]
- Monitor security events and lead incident response — including triage, investigation, and escalation.
- Maintain security policies and documentation; support compliance audits.
- Run security awareness training and manage IT asset lifecycle (procurement, inventory, retirement).
[Agent Performance & Continuous Improvement]
- Track agent coverage rate: what % of IT requests are now fully handled by AI vs. escalated to human.
- Monitor agent performance, identify failure patterns, and iterate to expand autonomous coverage.
- Evaluate new AI tooling and platforms; run PoCs and make evidence-based recommendations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- [Education] Bachelor/master’s degree in information systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent hands-on experience.
- [Experience] 2+ years in IT operations, cloud infrastructure, or system integration. Hands-on experience building AI agents or automation workflows is strongly preferred.
- [Technical Skills]
- Hands-on experience with AI agent or orchestration platforms (e.g., Claude / Anthropic API, n8n, Dify, Langflow, MCP servers).
- Familiar with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and identity/access management (IAM, SSO, Microsoft 365 admin).
- Understanding of API integrations, webhooks, and how to connect systems to agent workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL).
- [Mindset] When you encounter a repetitive IT task, your first instinct is to build something that handles it — not to do it again. You are comfortable owning outcomes in a high-autonomy environment, and can clearly articulate the line between what AI should handle and what still needs a human.
