Security Software Engineer
Indexed description
Most security platforms drown analysts in alerts. Axia Security does the opposite. Our AI understands context, prioritizes what matters, and gives organizations real control over their sensitive data.
We're building a platform that combines machine learning, LLMs, and deep security engineering to deliver context-aware data protection at enterprise scale. We're hiring a Security Software Engineer to build the core detection and enforcement engines at the heart of the platform. The DLP systems, firewall logic, and data classification pipelines that make Axia's protection real.
This is a high-ownership role. You'll work directly with the founders and AI engineers, make deep technical decisions from day one, and build security systems that enterprise customers depend on.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop Data Loss Prevention (DLP) engines that detect, classify, and enforce policies on sensitive data in real time
- Build and maintain firewall and traffic inspection components that operate at enterprise scale
- Develop data classification pipelines that combine rule-based detection, regex, NLP, and AI/LLM-powered analysis
- Implement and enforce security policies across network, endpoint, and cloud environments
- Integrate with enterprise security ecosystems including SIEM, CASB, and EDR platforms
- Build secure, production-grade components with a strong focus on performance and reliability
- Collaborate with AI engineers to bring model-driven detection capabilities into the core security stack
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of security software engineering experience, with hands-on DLP or DSPM development experience as a must
- Deep understanding of network security concepts including packet inspection, firewalls, and traffic analysis
- Hands-on expertise in Python and modern backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
- Experience building data classification systems using regex, pattern matching, and NLP techniques
- Solid understanding of security protocols (TLS, mTLS, OAuth, and related standards)
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
- Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar) for real-time detection pipelines
- Experience integrating with enterprise security platforms (SIEM, CASB, EDR, or similar)
- Solid experience with AWS and securing cloud-native, distributed environments
- Strong secure coding principles and a deep security mindset
Nice to Have
- Experience integrating LLMs or AI models into security detection pipelines
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or similar)
- Experience with eBPF or kernel-level security development
- Familiarity with UEBA or behavioral analytics systems
- Background building security products for enterprise customers
- Experience with endpoint security or agent-based security tooling
Why Join Us
- The problem is real and urgent. Enterprise data security is broken, and AI is finally making a better approach possible
- The team has done this before. Our founders bring deep expertise in cybersecurity and applied AI
- You'll own something that matters. Not a feature, the core detection and enforcement engine of an AI-powered security platform
- The timing is right. You'll shape the security architecture at the most exciting stage of company building
- Competitive salary. Talented, fast-moving team
