Responsibilities
- Develop appropriate scope of services and manage all aspects of geotechnical explorations and CMT projects including proposal preparation, analysis, report preparation, client communications, and field observations.
- Provide geotechnical expertise, recommendations, and reports for clients. Perform calculations and analysis for bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundation design, and slope stability analysis.
- Assist with technical oversight of the soils and materials testing laboratory operations in Granger IN.
- Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt).
- In conjunction with other WCG personnel, provide on-site recommendations for soil related construction issues (e.g. foundation subgrade inspection, proof rolling observations etc.).
- Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor’s representatives and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results
- Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Geotechnical engineering highly preferred
- At least 2-5 years of relevant project experience
- Proficiency in gINT, Microsoft Word and Excel
- EIT or P.E. registration a plus
- Solid written and oral communication skills to include proposal writing and geotechnical reporting
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and willingness to take on diverse challenges
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel out of town.
