Senior Full Stack Developer - Vue.js/Symfony (m/f/d)

Join an interdisciplinary team working directly on Shopware Core – with a focus on the Checkout Area. The Checkout team, in turn, is responsible for the shopping cart, payments and shipping. Furthermore, it is working on essential basics such as subscriptions and PayPal integration.

The positions can be filled on-site, hybrid, but also full-remote within Germany or specific European countries where we are registered. Your work location will be agreed upon in advance and forms the basis of your employment contract.

These are your tasks:

• Shopware Commerce Core Development: Implement and maintain innovative product features and extensions directly within the Shopware Core, with a focus on JavaScript/TypeScript (Vue.js) for the frontend and PHP (Symfony) for the backend. Your work will significantly contribute to the advancement of our open-source e-commerce solution, “Shopware 6”.
• Ownership & Impact: Take full ownership of your code and domain, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions. Your contributions will play a key role in driving the evolution of Shopware 6 and shaping the future of e-commerce.
• Diverse Development Areas: You will develop and maintain central functionalities in the Checkout team. Your focus will be on clean architecture, good expandability, and a consistent user experience in the storefront and admin context.
• Agile Work: Work with agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like Jira and Confluence to ensure efficient and transparent collaboration.
• Quality and Open Source: Independently test your software (Unit/Functional/E2E), conduct code reviews, and support the open-source development community with your expertise. Your contributions will enhance the quality and reliability of the Shopware Core.
• Frontend Focus: Ensure responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and performance to deliver an optimal user experience for the merchants.

This is what you’ll bring to the table:

• At least 5 years of professional experience are part of your background, ideally gained in an open-source environment.
• Your tech stack includes PHP (Symfony) and JavaScript/TypeScript (Vue.js).
• You are willing to work primarily as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong focus on frontend development.
• You don’t just implement requirements – you help shape them: You actively participate in refinements and discussions, challenge concepts constructively, and think beyond pure implementation. You bring in your own ideas, consider the bigger picture, and help translate product and business needs into sustainable technical solutions.
• A solid understanding of quality assurance and code reviews is part of your skill set.
• Reliability, proactivity, and a strong sense of responsibility characterize the way you approach tasks and projects, always aiming for the best outcomes with your team.
• Comfortable communication in English is natural for you, and you thrive in an international, “English First” environment.
