Product Manager – Automotive (Mexico Market Focus)
We are looking for a Product Manager to lead product planning and execution for the Mexican market, with a strong focus on local competitiveness, market dynamics, and commercial impact.
This role requires a hands‑on professional who not only understands product lifecycle management, but also demonstrates deep knowledge of the Mexican automotive landscape and the ability to challenge, adapt, and build strategies beyond established frameworks.
Position Objective
Own and drive the product strategy and execution for assigned vehicle lines in Mexico, ensuring strong competitiveness, profitability, and alignment with local customer needs.
The role requires a proactive thinker capable of translating market insights into actionable product decisions, challenging existing assumptions, and adapting global inputs into effective local strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for assigned vehicle lines in Mexico.
- Develop market-driven product strategies based on a deep understanding of local competitors, pricing, and customer behavior.
- Lead new model launches, facelifts, and lifecycle updates, ensuring strong market positioning.
- Define and challenge pricing strategies, product mix, and value propositions based on local insights.
- Act as a key liaison with HQ, adapting global strategies to fit Mexican market realities.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Marketing, Sales, Aftersales, Finance, and Supply Chain.
- Monitor and analyze competitor movements, pricing evolution, and market trends in Mexico.
- Build business cases and recommendations based on first-principles thinking, not only existing tools or templates.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field.
Experience
- 5–8+ years in automotive product roles
- Proven experience managing vehicle lines or product portfolios in the Mexican market.
- Direct involvement in product launches, pricing decisions, and lifecycle management.
- Experience working with HQ/global teams, adapting strategies locally.
Critical Requirements (Must Have)
- Strong and demonstrable understanding of the Mexican automotive competitive landscape.
- Experience making independent product decisions, beyond relying solely on established tools or processes.
- Ability to explain the logic behind pricing, positioning, and product decisions.
- Hands‑on execution mindset with a high level of ownership.
