Our client is looking for a (Senior) Data Scientist to take a central role in shaping its data science capability.
The Role
You will act as the go-to Data Scientist, owning the development and application of models that analyze and predict market behaviour. This is a highly hands-on role with real influence over how data science is used across the business.
Your work will focus on:
• Time series modelling of financial data (price, volume, volatility)
• Building models to predict short-term market movements and demand signals
• Analyzing event-driven data (e.g. news, social media) and translating it into actionable insights
• Combining classical statistical methods with machine learning and LLM-based approaches
• Running backtesting and model optimization on historical datasets
What They're Building
• Models across 10,000+ financial instruments, often grouped and benchmarked
• A system that links text-based signals (LLMs) with quantitative models
• A data-driven approach to real-time trading decisions
Profile
• Strong experience in time series analysis / forecasting
• Background in statistics, econometrics, or quantitative modelling
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience applying models in a pragmatic, problem-solving way
• Curiosity and ability to work independently with high ownership
