The Talent People is partnering with a leading international travel and tourism company with a strong presence across Asia Pacific. The organization specializes in designing and delivering curated travel experiences for global clients and is recognized for its customer-centric approach and innovative product offerings.


About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager (Japan) to lead the development and management of travel products across the Japan market. This role will be responsible for shaping product strategy, sourcing and managing suppliers, and ensuring commercial viability across a diverse portfolio of travel offerings.


You will play a key role in bridging strategy and execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, market-relevant products that meet evolving customer needs while driving profitability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage travel products, including multi-day itineraries, aligned with market trends and customer demand
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure product competitiveness
  • Source and manage supplier relationships (e.g. hotels, restaurants, local partners)
  • Oversee pricing, costing, and quotation processes to ensure profitability
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from development through to launch and ongoing optimization
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and business development teams to drive product performance
  • Analyze product performance metrics and recommend improvements
  • Support tender submissions and key account renewals with relevant product offerings
  • Organize product training and familiarization sessions for internal teams and partners
  • Ensure product quality, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards
  • Maintain product data, content, and system accuracy
  • Work closely with regional teams to align on customer needs and product strategy


Team & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a small team, fostering collaboration and performance
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development support to team members
  • Drive alignment on team goals and business objectives
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performance team culture


Experience Required

Education & Background

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in travel product development, tour operations, or a related field
  • Prior experience in a leadership or team management capacity

  • Commercially driven with experience in pricing and profitability management
