Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML Engineering or a related technical field
  • A basic understanding of relational databases and database management
  • Proficiency in Python and foundational machine learning concepts, with the ability to independently develop, train, and evaluate models leveraging libraries such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
  • Experience developing full stack web apps using modern frameworks, with additional hands-on exposure to CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and/or Generative AI (GenAI)

Who You Are

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking an Ops Web App/AI Engineer (Level 2) for Manufacturing Digital Transformation. This role involves rapidly developing and deploying digital transformation solutions in the manufacturing environment.

Building aircraft requires the cooperation of hundreds of individuals and complex production systems. With digital transformation coming to Lockheed Martin, your role will be to use AI based tools and solutions to develop software applications. This position focuses on applying advanced artificial intelligence techniques to solve complex operational challenges, delivering impactful results that enhance efficiency and drive productivity. This position will be responsible for overseeing development and deployment of AI solutions, big data analysis, and front-end development for AI and results based applications.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop, test, deploy and support AI applications that enable production operations use cases
  • Perform data extraction, cleaning, and exploratory analysis on large volume production datasets to support model training and performance monitoring.
  • Create real-time dashboards and data visualizations that enable leadership and floor supervisors to make informed decisions.
  • Build full-stack web applications to streamline data collection and management across production systems.
  • Design data pipelines and database solutions to integrate manufacturing systems and automate workflow processes.

This role involves directly interfacing with technical and non-technical users to truly understand their needs and then rapidly iterating to develop an application that they will love to use.

Desired Skills

  • Able to build Python-based ETL pipelines to integrate and process data across systems
  • Familiarity with GenAI Coding Assistants
  • Experience with agentic AI frameworks
  • Experience in API Development & Integration
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience interfacing with database architectures such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Strong organization and communication skills, able to listen effectively
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, AI/ML or related field
  • Familiarity with MSSQL database design and optimization
  • Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows
  • Experience in software development, with a focus on front-end engineering
  • Experience working in the product development lifecycle (architecture, design, development, testing, and maintenance)
  • Experience with aircraft manufacturing processes
