ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a high-impact Information Enablement program. You will play a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining secure DevOps tooling and infrastructure across complex enterprise environments.

Working alongside internal teams and external delivery partners, you will support development teams across on-premises, High Performance Computing (HPC), and cloud environments, ensuring secure and efficient software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and manage CI/CD YAML pipelines and Python-based tooling
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across DevOps environments and integration layers
• Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and delivery partners
• Manage workload and priorities using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ITSM platforms
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across DevOps processes and systems
• Promote and apply ITIL service management practices
• Act as a technical SME for DevSecOps and support escalations
• Produce documentation and deliver training, workshops, and knowledge sharing sessions

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a DevSecOps / DevOps Engineer role
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Linux systems administration
  • Python and BASH scripting
  • CI/CD pipelines (YAML-based)
  • APIs, web services, and system integrations
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar platforms
• Solid understanding of:
  • Automated testing and deployment
  • Version control and code reviews
  • Agile development practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical)

Desirable

• Experience with:
  • Cloud environments (AWS)
  • High Performance Computing (HPC)
  • Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
• Knowledge of ITIL frameworks
• Exposure to AI-driven automation or DevOps enhancements
• Background in data analytics or business intelligence
• Relevant tertiary qualifications
