About The Role
The Principal Data Scientist will perform complex research, design, and development of data science and data analysis projects to support the development of our software applications. They should have deep expertise. While they may have small teams of indirect reports, they lead through influence and their focus is on mentoring teams to develop and execute on best practices. They are the methodological experts and are expected to raise the data-driven decision-making bar of the entire organization.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Perform advanced data analysis, modeling, and machine learning to develop predictive and prescriptive models that drive business outcomes.
- Data Collection and Preparation: Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets, ensuring data quality and reliability.
- Machine Learning and AI: Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and AI solutions to solve complex business problems.
- Data Visualization: Create informative and compelling data visualizations to communicate results and insights to stakeholders effectively.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and domain experts, to identify opportunities and address business challenges.
- Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in data science and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
- Model Deployment: Assist in the deployment of machine learning models into production environments.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of projects, models, and code for knowledge sharing and reproducibility.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5-8 years) working in data science, machine learning, or AI, with a track record of delivering impactful projects.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, as well as relevant data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with generative AI models and techniques (e.g., LLMs, GANs) for content generation.
- Expertise in prompt engineering for fine-tuning language models like GPT-3.5 or similar models.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data manipulation techniques.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
