We are now looking for a foundational Lead Machine Learning Engineer / Head of Data Science to join our core technical team in Stockholm.

The Role As our Lead ML Engineer, you will architect, build, and scale the intelligence engine of S core Nordic. You will have full ownership of our machine learning pipelines, transforming raw data streams from our hardware sensors into actionable spatial insights, predictive models, and high-value data products.

You will work closely with the founders, our Hardware Lead, and our Software Track to ensure seamless edge-to-cloud data processing and model optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement machine learning models (specifically focusing on computer vision, spatial data analysis, or time-series sensor data).
• Optimize ML models for deployment, balancing edge computing limits on hardware with cloud infrastructure performance.
• Design robust data pipelines to process, analyze, and structure real-time urban mobility data streams.
• Collaborate closely with hardware and software engineering tracks to define data architectures and API requirements.
• Drive the technical vision for data science and machine learning within the company as we scale.

What We Are Looking For

• Strong background in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Science.
• Proficient in Python and core ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV).
• Experience with computer vision, object detection, or spatial/geospatial data streams.
• Familiarity with deploying models on edge devices (IoT/embedded systems) and managing cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a major plus.
• An entrepreneurial, problem-solving mindset – you thrive in an early-stage environment where you get to build frameworks from scratch.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English (our internal working language).
