Key Responsibilities
AI-Augmented Engineering
- Build backend systems using AI copilots like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and ChatGPT
- Use AI for code generation, refactoring, test case generation, performance tuning, and documentation
- Apply prompt engineering and context engineering to produce production-grade outputs
- Continuously experiment with AI tooling to improve development velocity
Core Backend Engineering
- Design and develop scalable Java backend services
- Architect Microservices using Spring Boot
- Implement REST APIs, transaction management, and concurrency handling
- Work with relational databases and JPA/Hibernate
- Contribute to scalable, cloud-ready systems
AI-Aware System Design
- Design systems that can integrate with AI agents
- Think in automation layers
- Build APIs that are AI-consumable
- Collaborate in building AI-powered enterprise workflows
Required Qualifications
- 4-8 years of professional experience in Java backend development
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience with REST API design and implementation
- Working knowledge of relational databases, JPA/Hibernate, and SQL
- Active daily usage of AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar)
- Understanding of prompt engineering and context engineering principles
- Experience with transaction management and concurrency handling
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization
Preferred Skills
- Experience building AI-integrated or AI-consumable APIs
- Knowledge of LLM capabilities and limitations
- Background in enterprise software development
- Experience with procurement or supply chain systems
- Contributions to open-source projects or AI-assisted development tools
- Strong problem-solving skills with an automation-first mindset
- Ability to measure and articulate productivity gains through AI tooling
