AI Native Software Engineer
 Contract: 3 months
Location: London preferred / UK-wide | Hybrid with travel
Rate: Flexible DOE inside IR35

Join a leading global consulting and technology organisation delivering enterprise-scale digital transformation projects for major international clients. They are seeking an experienced AI Native Software Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems within complex enterprise environments.

This is a highly hands-on contract role focused on AI agents, cloud-native engineering, and scalable AI-powered applications. The successful AI Native Software Engineer will work closely with engineering teams to deliver enterprise-ready AI solutions using modern LLM platforms, orchestration frameworks, and cloud technologies.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement AI agent workflows including RAG, orchestration, tool invocation, and policy-based routing
  • Build scalable cloud-native services using microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, serverless, and event-driven architectures
  • Integrate enterprise AI platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic, Vertex AI, and open-source models
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and observability capabilities
  • Deliver production-grade AI applications, APIs, and backend services integrated with enterprise systems

About You:

  • 8-10+ years' software engineering experience in cloud-native environments
  • Strong experience building production AI/LLM systems including agents, RAG, and orchestration workflows
  • Excellent backend engineering skills using Python, Java, or similar languages
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability tooling
  • Experience with AI frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar is highly desirable
