Position Overview
We are seeking a Product Line Manager to own and grow a portfolio of fiber and telecom connectivity products, including connectors, connectorized assemblies, and cable solutions for data center and industrial customers. The role combines product strategy, lifecycle management, cross-functional coordination with R&D and manufacturing, and commercial leadership to deliver profitable, high-quality products that meet market needs and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the product line strategy and roadmap for fiber, connector, and cable products, aligned with company objectives and market trends.
- Own product lifecycle management from ideation through end-of-life, including requirements definition, technical specifications, and performance targets.
- Manage product P&L, pricing strategy, cost-to-serve analysis, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with R&D/engineering to translate customer needs into manufacturable designs and ensure timely new product introductions.
- Work with manufacturing and supply chain to optimize production processes, yield, quality, and supplier relationships for connectors and cable assemblies.
- Partner with sales, marketing, and customer support to develop go-to-market plans, sales enablement materials, and customer-facing technical documentation.
- Support key customer engagements, including technical proposals, design reviews, and post-sale issue resolution for telecom and data center customers.
- Monitor market, competitor, and technology trends in fiber optics, connectorization, and data center interconnects to identify growth opportunities and threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH, telecom-specific standards) and lead continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional teams, drive projects to completion, and report product line performance to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
- 5+ years of product management or product line management experience in fiber optics, telecom, or cable/connector manufacturing.
- Strong technical understanding of fiber optics, connectors, connectorization processes, and cable manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with data center products and enterprise telecom customers, including familiarity with standards and deployment environments.
- Proven track record of managing product P&L, pricing, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Experience working with manufacturing, supply chain, and suppliers to drive quality and yield improvements.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership, project management, and communication skills with the ability to present to technical and commercial audiences.
- Analytical mindset with experience using market data, financial metrics, and customer feedback to inform product decisions.
- Willingness to travel to customers, suppliers, and manufacturing sites as required.
