Purchasing Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the purchasing department by managing daily purchasing activities, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and ensuring smooth communication across internal departments. This entry level role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a strong commitment to accuracy and follow-up. Compensation based on experience. Key Responsibilities

• Review buyers guides daily and place product orders accordingly.
• Review and advise on the backorder register daily to manage outstanding orders.
• Investigate and follow up on all open purchase orders that are past due.
• Follow up with vendors regarding purchase orders and product status as needed.
• Review inventory cycle count discrepancies daily and coordinate resolution.
• Research and communicate product information as requested by internal departments.
• Meet with vendors alongside the Purchasing Manager to maintain and build strong relationships.
• Communicate regularly with other departments to ensure accurate processing for both internal and external customers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include year-end inventory, acting as Buyer in their absence, and miscellaneous projects.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience or knowledge in purchasing and inventory management desired.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficient with computer tools and software to track orders and communications.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams.
