Duties

  • Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees within the Custodial Department at Pine View Campground. Performs opening and closing duties within the Outdoor Recreation program to include Whitetail Ridge Ski Area during Winter months.
  • Assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily basis. Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance.
  • Supports the activity by assisting in cleaning of cabins, yurts, duplexes, campers, and facilities. Oversees Pineview Campground Camp Hosts.
  • Works in executing recreation events, programs and services to meet recreational needs including a variety of multi-disciplinary events such as ski lessons, social activities, tournaments and other major programs and observances.
  • Assists with training new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions of employment

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/T-1background requirements for this position to include Supervisor of Minor checks.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Driver's License required to operate government vehicle.
  • Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Operation is 7 days a week, schedule will be based on the needs of the activity. Subject to an irregular tour of duty including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays are required.

Qualifications

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following

  • Must have knowledge of a wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Must have basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding for supplies and equipment.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English).
  • Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":

  • One (1) year experience supervising staff.
  • One (1) year Hospitality experience.

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
