Location: Merrimack, NH (Hybrid – 1 week onsite / 1 week remote)

Pay rate: Open to market, suggest $65-75/hr w2 as target range

12 month initial duration

• Seeking a Principal Systems Analyst to support enterprise mainframe modernization initiatives by analyzing operational and consumption data and developing reporting that measures reduction of legacy platform usage as part of a broader cloud modernization strategy.
• This role will partner closely with modernization teams, infrastructure, engineering, architecture, and program leadership to translate technical modernization activity into measurable KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Overview:Seeking a Principal Systems Analyst to support enterprise mainframe modernization initiatives by analyzing operational and consumption data and developing reporting that measures reduction of legacy platform usage as part of a broader cloud modernization strategy.
• This role will partner closely with modernization teams, infrastructure, engineering, architecture, and program leadership to translate technical modernization activity into measurable KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Key Responsibilities:Analyze IBM mainframe operational and performance data (SMF, RMF, CICS, DB2, batch workloads)
• Build dashboards and reporting to track modernization progress, workload reduction, and platform consumption trends.
• Develop executive-level reporting and KPI visualization using Power BI, BusinessObjects, or similar tools.
• Use SQL and Snowflake to aggregate, transform, and analyze large operational datasets.
• Investigate workload spikes, anomalies, and operational trends.
• Gather requirements and collaborate cross-functionally across infrastructure, operations, engineering, and modernization teams.
• Document data flows, reporting methodologies, and operational dependencies.

Required Skills:

• Strong IBM mainframe operational knowledge: LPARs, SYSPLEX, CECs, batch processing, workload management.
• Experience analyzing:
• SMF/RMF
• CICS
• DB2
• Workload/performance data
• Advanced SQL and Snowflake experience
• Reporting/dashboard development experience with: Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects
• Strong analytical and systems analysis skills
• Ability to translate technical findings into business-focused insights and executive reporting.
