Cheese Processor (Make Room) - 1st Shift

The Cheese Processor in the Make Room plays a key role in producing high-quality cheese in a safe and sanitary environment. This position involves monitoring production processes, handling cheese throughout manufacturing, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with other departments to ensure efficient operations.

We are looking for dependable individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the dairy food industry.

Pay & Schedule

• Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour
• Increase to $22.00 per hour after 120 days
• Shift: 1st Shift
• Hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
• No weekends and Wednesdays off!

Duties And Responsibilities

• Read, record, and communicate cheese pH levels
• Set up, operate, and change cheese tables
• Level cheese into molds, flip, and remove cheese from molds
• Operate and monitor the brine room
• Hand-pick and pump cheese into molds
• Monitor production lines and wash tanks
• Measure starter cultures accurately
• Operate serum pumps properly
• Rework cheese when necessary
• Record production data accurately
• Perform cleaning and sanitation throughout the shift
• Maintain a sanitary workspace following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Learn all manufacturing room operations and duties
• Communicate effectively with all departments
• Cross-train in other positions as needed
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and follow directions
• Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer knowledge preferred, but training will be provided
• Dependable, punctual, and responsible
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and work in the dairy food industry

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds repetitively
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per shift
• Ability to squat, kneel, bend, and climb stairs

Work Environment

Food manufacturing plant environment. Must follow all food safety and plant safety policies and regulations. Exposure to cleaning chemicals is required as part of sanitation duties.
