New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico.

Why does the job exist?

Provide a safe therapeutic environment in a clinically managed, substance abuse (mental health enhanced) residential treatment facility that optimizes the client¿s opportunity to maintain sobriety and an enhanced quality of life.

How does it get done?

Conducts Assessments and completes admission intakes. Complete mental health assessments on clients. Administratively direct and supervise the daily operations and resolve issues related to the Chemical Dependency. Ensure an optimal environment of quality care, quality of life, comfort and safety for the patients and staff. Ensure the Chemical Dependency Program services are provided in accordance with Federal, State, Department of Health, and accreditation policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and laws and always working within the guidelines of 42 CFR and HIPAA.

Individuals with substance abuse and co-occurring diagnosis

Ideal Candidate

Licensed in New Mexico as an LISW, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LADAC and specialized in psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, client progress reports and discharge plans. Developing, reviewing, and documenting service plans based on research.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Social Work (in accordance with NMAC 61-31-9) and two (2) years of experience in a social work setting such as social service agencies, healthcare, medical, educational settings, mental health, home health, hospice, developmental disabilities, and other relevant experience, working with patients, clients, providers, and families. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

This position is designated a safety sensitive. Employment requires successful completion of criminal background and is conditional pending results. Employment is subject to preemployment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing.

Working Conditions

Services are provided in communities, clinics, auxiliary site settings, and in the homes of consumers to a diverse racial and ethnic population, many of whom do not speak English. Reaching and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. Potential exposure to communicable diseases. Travel to provide outreach and coverage, to attend meetings and training sessions, with the occasional overnight stay is required.
