Your role

We are looking for a Full-stack System Engineer to join us at Digital Defense at the Digital Battlespace Solutions Business Unit.

In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of software systems and applications—from design and development to deployment and maintenance. This role combines software development with infrastructure and operational responsibility.

This is a hybrid role that blends development and operations—building solutions and ensuring they run reliably in production.

You’ll be working in a team of like-minded people tasked to build automated AI-powered systems that empower and enhance our and our customers’ abilities.

The workload will be dynamic and challenging, requiring you to take initiative both independently and as part of a team.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Design system architecture and technical solutions. Engineer complete secure software systems in cloud environments.
• Develop applications and services. Utilize AI tools and techniques to accelerate development, improve code quality, and build intelligent features
• Automate deployment and operations (CI/CD, scripts, pipelines). Build, deploy, monitor and improve systems continuously.
• Troubleshoot incidents, problems and optimize reliability. Solve problems independently or as a team.

Your profile

You are highly motivated, analytical and technically skilled developer/ systems engineer who goes beyond coding and design to actually build and run AI-powered software systems.

Your skill set includes:

• Strong system design & architecture skills (distributed systems, APIs, data flows)
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and “cloud-native tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Git, Helm)
• Experience with data engineering or machine learning systems
• Experience with data modeling and databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse)
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and workflows
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing, and observability tools
• Ability to debug complex systems and evaluate trade-offs
• Strong problem framing and decomposition skills

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
