We’re partnering with a high-growth HealthTech company that is transforming the delivery of healthcare through AI-driven clinical solutions. With a strong international presence and significant backing from leading investors, the business is building scalable digital care platforms that improve patient outcomes while reducing healthcare costs across employers, insurers, and healthcare providers.

Their AI function is expanding rapidly and they are now looking to hire an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Applied AI team focused on developing intelligent healthcare products at scale.

The team is working across a broad range of AI initiatives, including conversational AI, clinical decision support, personalised treatment systems, and next-generation digital care experiences. The environment combines cutting-edge Generative AI techniques with traditional machine learning approaches, depending on the use case and clinical need.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in designing, building, deploying, and improving AI/ML solutions used in production environments. This is a hands-on engineering role with strong cross-functional exposure, working closely with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver impactful AI-powered features.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, evaluating, and deploying machine learning solutions into production
• Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support model training and evaluation
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-driven product capabilities
• Contributing to best practices across machine learning engineering and model operations
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the AI/ML function
• Identifying opportunities to introduce AI and automation capabilities across the platform
• Navigating ambiguity and balancing technical quality with speed-to-value delivery

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial experience in Machine Learning or Applied AI
• Proven experience building and maintaining production-grade ML systems
• Strong Python and SQL skills, alongside solid software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with the Python data ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, etc.)
• Experience leading technically complex projects from concept through deployment
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working in fast-moving, evolving environments

Desirable Experience

• Experience building scalable data processing pipelines
• Exposure to LLMs, Generative AI, RAG systems, or agentic workflows
• Cloud platform experience (AWS or GCP)
• Previous experience in high-growth or product-led technology environments
