Job Description
Rios Partners is seeking an AI Engineer to leverage modern AI tools (including Claude, ChatGPT, and others) to increase software development productivity, develop AI-enhanced applications, and integrate large language models (LLMs) into workflows. The role supports mission-aligned projects across healthcare, federal agencies, and regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- AI-Accelerated Development: Use AI tools to generate code, tests, documentation, and system designs; rapidly prototype features; and apply prompt engineering techniques.
- LLM & AI Integration: Integrate LLMs into applications (RAG pipelines, embeddings search, agent-based workflows); implement model evaluation, safety guardrails, and monitoring.
- Software Engineering: Develop backend services, APIs, automation workflows, and data pipelines using Python, TypeScript, or similar languages; perform code reviews and maintain documentation.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (product managers, data scientists), contribute to agile ceremonies, and share learnings on emerging AI capabilities.
- 1–4 years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, or automation development.
- Strong proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools for coding, debugging, and documentation.
- Familiarity with LLM concepts (tokens, embeddings, transformers) and modern ML workflows.
- Experience with Git and modern DevOps tools.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Anthropic/OpenAI SDKs).
- Experience building/maintaining vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience in healthcare, public sector, or regulated environments.
