DATA SCIENTIST

JOB DESCRIPTION

· Analytics Project Support: Contribute to end-to-end analytics engagements, from initial problem framing and hypothesis development to delivering actionable insights and recommendations. You will work under the guidance of project leads to ensure analyses address the client’s key questions and drive tangible value.

· Data Mining & Modeling: Help define project approaches and analytical frameworks; select and apply appropriate data mining, statistical analysis, and modeling techniques to solve complex business problems. This includes performing data exploration, feature engineering, and model development (e.g. predictive models, segmentation analyses) using rich datasets and client data.

· Solution Development: Collaborate with senior team members to translate client needs into scalable data science solutions. Leverage our data, client data, and third-party sources to build advanced, data-driven solutions that address client objectives.

· Insights Delivery: Analyze model results and translate data findings into clear, compelling insights. Communicate these insights effectively through presentations, visualization dashboards, and reports, helping influence client decision-making and business strategies. Support implementation of recommendations and assist in tracking the realized business value post-engagement.

· Client & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders and client teams throughout each project. You will engage with clients in meetings and workshops as part of the project team, ensuring alignment on objectives, presenting interim findings, and incorporating client feedback. Build strong working relationships with our client managers, consultants, and technical partners to facilitate smooth project delivery

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements

· Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or a related quantitative field (Master’s degree preferred). At least 5 years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics, or other quantitative roles, preferably in banking, payments, or consulting environments. A proven ability to apply data science and analytics to solve real business problems and deliver value, especially in client-facing settings, will be essential.

· Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in data analysis and programming using Python, including experience with data science libraries and frameworks (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch). Experience with large-scale data extraction and processing using SQL and big data technologies (e.g., Hive, Spark) is required. Solid understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques (such as regression, classification, clustering, decision trees) and how to apply them to practical business scenarios.

· Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights. Comfortable working with large, ambiguous datasets and distilling them into actionable recommendations. A problem-solving mindset and intellectual curiosity are critical – you proactively explore data, ask the right questions, and seek innovative approaches to solve problems.

· Project Contribution: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality deliverables. Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams (e.g., with consultants, engineers, or product managers) to drive outcomes is highly valued.

· Communication Skills: Excellent communication in english, presentation, and data storytelling skills. You should be able to explain analytic approaches and results to non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner, and craft narratives that resonate with client stakeholders.

Nice to Have

· Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with payments and banking ecosystems – understanding how issuers, acquirers, merchants, and Fintechs operate will help contextualize your analyses.

· Specialized Analytics Experience: Experience in risk analytics, marketing analytics, or other specialized domains of data science is a plus. Background in credit scoring, fraud detection, campaign analytics or similar use-cases can be advantageous.

· Consulting Skills: Prior experience in consulting or client-facing data science role is beneficial. This includes comfort with presenting to clients, adapting to feedback, and working under tight deadlines to deliver results.
