DevOps Engineer (AWS & Terraform Specialist)

Paris 9th - 2 days/week

70K - 100K€

About Us

Symbiotic Security is a fast-growing cybersecurity startup (30 people between Paris & NY) helping developers write secure code. Our AI-powered assistant integrates into IDEs and CI/CD pipelines to automatically detect and fix security flaws (notably those generated by AI tools like Copilot).

Our tech team: CTO, 8 Fullstack Engineers, 1 SRE, 2 AI Engineers, 4 Cyber Experts, 1 PM, 2 Product designers

The Role

As our DevOps Engineer, you will own the reliability, scalability, and security of our AWS cloud infrastructure.

Your core challenge:

You come from a software development background (you’ve built and shipped apps before). You will design production-grade platforms using Terraform and work hand-in-hand with our SRE. While they focus on EKS/Kubernetes orchestration, you will provide the foundational AWS ecosystem, core security architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure as Code: Design and scale modular AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
  • SRE Collaboration: Partner with our SRE to harden EKS clusters (networking, RBAC, core infra).
  • International Expansion: Extend our AWS footprint across the US and Europe (latency, data residency).
  • Security & DevSecOps: Champion IAM least-privilege, secrets management (Vault/KMS), and embed automated security checks (SAST/DAST) into GitHub Actions.
  • LLMOps & Compliance: Benchmark AI model performance on Amazon Bedrock and help prepare our upcoming SOC 2 Type II audit.

First 6 Months Challenges

  • Months 1-2: Audit and take ownership of the existing Terraform codebase; identify security & cost quick wins.
  • Months 2-4: Implement a unified CI/CD strategy with safe plan/apply gates alongside the SRE.
  • Months 4-6: Scale the AWS footprint to Europe and build LLMOps practices (benchmarking Bedrock vs Anthropic).

Qualifications

  • The Dev-to-Ops path: You started in software engineering / coding before moving into DevOps.
  • AWS Expert: 3+ years managing production workloads (advanced networking, IAM, security).
  • Terraform Pro: Advanced experience with modules, state management, and CI-driven workflows.
  • K8s & Linux: Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts and deep knowledge of Linux internals.

Nice to have: Experience in an early-stage startup and familiarity with SOC 2 compliance.

Benefits & Compensation

💰 €70K to €100K + equity (BSPCE).

🩺 100% covered health insurance & €500 equipment budget.

🍽️ Swile card, RTT, €250 Holiday allowance.

🏡 Remote-friendly: Up to 2 days/week (Paris-bound team).

🥂 Great culture, regular outings, and a €2,000 referral bonus.

Hiring Process

1. Intro Call (30 min) -> 2. CTO Interview (1h) -> 3. Tech Test (2h - On-site) -> 4. Team Fit Lunch
