AI Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to help design and govern how AI-driven systems behave across a modern backend platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on building scalable services, defining guardrails, and ensuring reliability, safety, and observability across distributed systems. You’ll work at the intersection of backend engineering and AI system governance, shaping how enforcement and validation patterns scale across teams.

What You’ll Do

• Design and deliver backend services and APIs that enforce system behavior across multiple services
• Define enforcement, filtering, and validation patterns within complex system architectures
• Build cross-service controls and shared tooling adopted across engineering teams
• Improve observability across systems through logging, metrics, and tracing
• Architect scalable backend solutions in AWS using modern cloud-native patterns
• Mentor engineers on defensive programming, safe design, and failure handling

What You Bring

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience with strong Python and TypeScript skills
• Experience building and scaling backend systems and APIs across service boundaries
• Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway)
• Strong understanding of system design, dependencies, and failure propagation
• Experience defining validation logic, guardrails, or enforcement mechanisms across systems
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence engineering standards

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLMs, agentic systems, or multi-agent workflows
• Familiarity with prompt injection detection, output filtering, or AI safety patterns
