📦 What is Hero and Lemonlight?
Hero’s the coolest product I’ve worked on in my >15+ year career. It even blows away my own startups I founded.
Getting from idea in your head to filming it on set is a massive challenge. Not only is there friction with your own creative process, but you need to keep teammates aligned, share drafts, loop in teammates for different roles, manage real world hurdles, and navigate client feedback. In the end, final deliverables often miss the mark between the original goal and what is the final video file.
This is what Hero solves. It’s an AI forward SaaS product that aims to transform the film and commercial industry. Our customers are professionals with a real budget, not grandmas making cat videos with Sora (RIP). Our users use Premiere Pro, not CapCut. And our customers are teams of creatives, producers, and talent working together on a common goal. Today, we’re focused on cracking the short form ad market. The future is end to end across all video creative.
Where most products are fighting in a red ocean for AI gen video, we harness the best models, sequence and chain them together with smarter prompting, and focus on the actual pain point of creative generation which is pre-production. Then, we’ll let the competition fight each other on “press button, get video” while we dominate the space of “press button, go to set” and “press button, get crew”. We firmly believe that while AI will accelerate creative, it is the human in the loop with taste and teamwork that gets something from a B to A+. If you want to work on a product using the best image, text, and video models with workflows designed for real collaboration, this is it.
Lemonlight is our parent company, serving over 50k videos to market from massive brands (Amazon, Walmart, etc) to local mom & pop services. We get to build software literally in the studios and building where producers, editors, coordinators, and the entire team bustles around.
We’re getting ready to double down on pre-production logistics and our crew and talent marketplace. We’re about to come out of closed Beta in June, and you’ll be working on a boatload of zero to one products. If this sounds like somewhere you’d thrive, let’s talk.
↗️ Why are we hiring?
We are growing our team and investing into deployment processes and architecture that are thinking about 2027 style unlocks, not 2025 habits.
I’m looking for a teammate to be interdisciplinary, autonomous, and a great coach. This teammate will predominantly deploy to production, but will also improve each aspect of our PDLC to drive greater autonomy and velocity across the org. You will model a new chapter in product development as a full-stack builder, and can think product, design, and engineering.
☑️ Requirements
- Improve the P/SDLC from end to end. Identify friction points, write skill files, integrate new tools, measure performance, and unblock everyone everywhere. The outcome needed is a step function increase in team velocity from idea to deployment and builder autonomy.
- Ship and deploy. Work with PXMs on specifications and problems, and ship full-stack solutions. Outcome is customer and business metrics are hit. You should be able to do this entirely on your own.
- Mentor and grow the team. Show your excellence first, then turn around and teach others your ways. Outcome is individual team skills grow.
- Innovate and drive value. Put on your product hat, define your own experiments in alignment with our strategy, get the data you need, and drive outcomes. Outcome is you model the full stack builder of eng + PXM skills.
➕ Nice to Have
- Leadership chops - demonstrate teams you’ve led with a clear mission and outcomes you’ve owned and won.
- Film chops - background in the film or video industry.
- Image and video model chops - demonstrate experience working with image and video model APIs with real customers.
- Chaining and harnessing chops - demonstrate knowledge of chaining prompts and models based on user jobs to be done and model skills.
- Ops chops - proven background with Dev Ops or Product Ops.
- Proven velocity - prove from past experience how you’ve >2x’d deployment velocity for a team.
- Design chops - showcase visual design skills or design system management in the AI era.
- Product chops - showcase product sense and strategic opportunity identification taken to market by you.

❤️ Our Culture:
- Better > Best. You won’t ever be perfect, so strive to consistently be 1% better than yesterday. It is far better to act, move, and learn than to wait for the never-arriving perfect moment. “I am always growing.”
- Customers → Team → You. Do what’s right for the customer. A decision that’s good for you and bad for the customer is the wrong decision.
- Play is a KPI. Play is the natural outcome of the whole machine working. If we aren't laughing (including at ourselves), something went wrong. There is no better compliment from our customers than them truly playing with Hero.
- Teamwork is the superpower. No individual can outperform a team working well together. If in doubt, help your teammate.
- Be Curious, not judgmental. Judgement and assumptions close doors. Humility and curiosity opens them.
- Everyone builds. Simple. Managers build. ICs build. Everyone ships. Everyone owns the outcomes of what they make.
🗣️ Application Process:
If this sounds good, we have a four step application process: 1) recorded video screener, 2) live behavioral, 3) live case study, 4) paid project based on your availability. If all those go well, then we go to an offer. You can start the process here: https://forms.gle/5WvtsjkmhDpNznog8
I look forward to hearing from you!
