We are partnering with a leading global investment bank to hire an exceptional Senior Python Software Engineer to join a newly formed AI engineering team focused on transforming risk functions through advanced AI and machine learning technologies.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role for a highly capable engineer with deep expertise in Python backend development, scalable system design, and modern software engineering practices. You will play a key role in architecting and delivering robust, production-grade platforms that support cutting-edge AI-driven solutions within a complex financial environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI
- Build production-grade systems supporting AI/ML applications
- Design and implement solutions for analysing data, code, documentation, and workflow metadata
- Contribute to system architecture, scalability, reliability, and engineering best practices
- Work across containerised and cloud-native environments using Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Drive CI/CD, DevOps, and agile delivery practices
Experience
- Expert-level Python development experience
- Strong commercial experience with FastAPI
- Deep understanding of software design principles and architectural patterns
- Experience delivering enterprise-grade software solutions
- Strong knowledge of scalable distributed systems and backend architecture
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar container platforms
- Strong DevOps and CI/CD expertise
- Ideally experience with Generative AI and LLM-based applications
