We are partnering with a leading global investment bank to hire an exceptional Senior Python Software Engineer to join a newly formed AI engineering team focused on transforming risk functions through advanced AI and machine learning technologies.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for a highly capable engineer with deep expertise in Python backend development, scalable system design, and modern software engineering practices. You will play a key role in architecting and delivering robust, production-grade platforms that support cutting-edge AI-driven solutions within a complex financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Build production-grade systems supporting AI/ML applications
• Design and implement solutions for analysing data, code, documentation, and workflow metadata
• Contribute to system architecture, scalability, reliability, and engineering best practices
• Work across containerised and cloud-native environments using Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Drive CI/CD, DevOps, and agile delivery practices

Experience

• Expert-level Python development experience
• Strong commercial experience with FastAPI
• Deep understanding of software design principles and architectural patterns
• Experience delivering enterprise-grade software solutions
• Strong knowledge of scalable distributed systems and backend architecture
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar container platforms
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD expertise
• Ideally experience with Generative AI and LLM-based applications
