Senior Full-Stack Cloud Engineer

What We Are Looking For

Required: 4+ years building and deploying full-stack apps; strong React and TypeScript frontend; production Python with AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3); Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform strongly preferred); relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB); CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar); high-ownership in a small team; professional English; US business hours alignment (9 AM–6 PM ET).Strongly Preferred: healthcare/ HIPAA experience; Amazon Connect or cloud telephony; AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot); event-driven architectures (EventBridge, SQS/SNS); Cognito or similar identity systems; experience with US-based remote teams.

Projects

MyBCAT is a managed back-office and call center platform serving 30+ U.S. optometry practices. We handle everything from patient scheduling and insurance verification to phone system automation and clinical workflows. Our platform processes hundreds of thousands of patient interactions and is built to meet strict HIPAA compliance requirements. We are a small, high-autonomy team building at the intersection of healthcare operations and AI. Our engineering culture is AI-native — we build with Claude Code, Codex CLI, and other agent-assisted development tools daily. If you want to ship real production systems fast with a small team that punches way above its weight, this is the role.

What You Will Build

• Develop and own features for the Client Portal (React/TypeScript) to manage back-office operations, analytics, and service interactions.
• Implement Phone System Automation by integrating with Amazon Connect and RingCentral for call routing, transcription, and post-call workflows.
• Contribute to OptometryConnect EHR—greenfield EHR built on the Oystehr platform—tailoring it for optometry use.

Benefits & How We Work

Pay: $25,000 – $60,000 USD/year, paid monthly in USD. Contractor role with self-managed taxes. Schedule: Full-time, Mon–Fri, 9 AM–6 PM ET. Equipment: You provide hardware; we supply software licenses and AWS access. Growth: Clear path to expanded responsibilities as MyBCAT scales (current ~$1.3M annualized revenue).

Desirable but Not Required

Experience with HIPAA-compliant systems, handling PII/PHI, and working in AI-native development environments. Familiarity with AI-assisted coding workflows and a track record of delivering secure, scalable healthcare software.
